At Westcombe Group, we are committed to investing in Trafford’s community through the redevelopment of 701-709 Chester Road. Social Investment
We are proud to support Trafford and Greater Manchester through our charitable partnerships and community initiatives. At the Westcombe Foundation, we are working with the following organisations to make a real difference to people’s lives:
• Lifeshare – Manchester’s oldest homelessness charity, providing vital support to those in need, including emergency food, housing assistance, and mental health services.
• Feed My City – a local initiative providing hot, nutritious meals to people facing hardship across Greater Manchester.
Our support for these organisations reflects our belief that being part of a community means giving back and making a difference.
We are dedicated to long-term partnerships with charities and local groups, ensuring we contribute not just to the built environment but also to the wellbeing of local people.
Economic Investment
We are committed to boosting Trafford’s economy, helping local businesses to grow and creating employment opportunities that are secure long-term.
This development will inject £20.2 million into the local economy, with the hotel attracting 178,000 visitors per year – 50 jobs for Greater Manchester residents will be created, both during the construction and operational phases once the development is complete.
This is forecast to bring in £15 million for local businesses annually and provide £300,000 a year to Trafford Council in direct funding, strengthening public services and important community initiatives.
Beyond these figures, we are committed to supporting local businesses. Two new retail units will be available at 701-709 Chester Road, giving businesses space to thrive. We have also worked closely with the existing business tenants, helping them plan for the future, with some already expressing interest in returning to the site.
